Before he graduated from dental school Dr. Gear realized that he wanted a stronger implant, denture and restorative background and accepted a position in the Graduate Prosthodontic Residency to specialize in Prosthodontics.

He graduated from the Graduate prosthodontic Program in 2001. Upon graduating Dr. Gear moved back to southwest Florida to practice dentistry and raise his family. He was excited to work in a dental practice in Lehigh Acres. She prides herself on taking many continuing education classes in order to provide her patients with the best possible care. Along with her team, she offers quality dental care in a sincere and personal environment.

Outside of the office, Dr. Oakes-Lottridge is actively involved in the Lee County Dental Society, and served as President in 2012-2013, as well as being a delegate to the Florida Dental Association. Her involvement has allowed her to provide dental services through the Mission of Mercy, as well as Project Dental Care, helping those in need. Her other passion is her family, where the many school activities and children’s sports activities keep her busy. Dr. Oakes-Lottridge looks forward to meeting and getting to know you. She hopes to help you with your personal dental goals: whether its straightening, whitening, restoring or maintaining your healthy beautiful smile.

Missing Teeth?

Dental Implants Can Help You Smile With Confidence

Since most oral surgeries are in-house, there’s no more convenient place to get dental implants than Caloosa Dental. Implants are an excellent option to replace missing teeth, improve chewing ability, eliminate bridges, and replace traditional dentures.

Several implants may provide a base for a series of artificial teeth known as a fixed bridge. Implants can even be used to secure a full set of removable dentures for people who have no remaining natural teeth.

Crowns & Bridges

Crowns & Bridges Learn More

Protect and keep badly decayed or fractured teeth while maintaining a beautiful smile. Made to perfectly match the shape and shade of your other teeth, they’re durable, strong, and undetectable.

Crowns should be placed before the tooth is so decayed that it may fracture. This can often help prevent the expense of root canal therapy in the future. If a tooth is too damaged to have a crown applied, a porcelain bridge may be a good alternative.

After four years of dental school, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon completes four to six years of additional formal training in treating the craniomaxillofacial complex. This specialty is one of 9 dental specialties recognized internationally and by the American Dental Association (ADA).

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon can diagnose and treat a wide variety conditions. The following are just some of the many conditions, treatments and procedures oral and maxillofacial surgeon deal with on a daily basis:

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal Therapy Learn More

Gum disease is treated by carefully removing the bacteria and substances that form in the pockets around the teeth. The removal of this material occurs on a microscopic level and requires great skill. Our dental team has had advanced training to effectively remove all of the bacteria.

Dental Emergencies

Dental Emergencies Learn More

Dental emergencies are quite frightening and often painful. Prompt treatment is almost always required to alleviate pain and to ensure the teeth have the best possible chance of survival.

Sometimes, teeth become fractured by trauma, grinding, or biting on hard objects. In other cases, fillings, crowns, and other restorative devices can be damaged or fall out of the mouth completely. If there is severe pain, it is essential to contact our office immediately. The pain caused by dental emergencies almost always gets worse without treatment, and dental issues can seriously jeopardize physical health.

If you have questions or concerns about a dental emergency you might be having, please contact our office immediately.

Smile Whitening

Smile Whitening Learn More

Many everyday things like coffee, tea and wine can significantly dull teeth. Smile-whitening enables us to significantly brighten your smile for that dazzling white smile you deserve.

Plastic whitening trays will be made from models of your teeth. You will then place a special whitening gel in each tray and wear the trays in your mouth for several hours per day. (Many patients wear their trays after dinner and before bed.) A significant change in tooth color is usually seen in just four to six weeks.

Inlays & Onlays

Inlays & Onlays Learn More

Our practice strives to conserve your own healthy tooth structure whenever possible. For those who have worn or cracked teeth, or who have large silver fillings, Dr. xxx recommends porcelain inlays. The porcelain bonds directly to the tooth enamel which means it is both durable and beautiful. An onlay is used when the tooth structure may be compromised by the use of a crown. Ask us about a consultation if you feel you may need an onlay or an inlay.

Bone Grafting

Bone Grafting Learn More

If you've had a tooth extracted or need an extraction, the area where the tooth is removed will naturally collapse causing a depression or indent in your jawbone. Our practice can safely perform a bone graft to stabilize the area for an implant placement, to preserve the bone for a bridge, or to stabilize adjacent teeth.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics Learn More

A beautifully-aligned natural smile can be obtained both with traditional metal braces and other more subtle options like Invisalign® "invisible" orthodontics. Please contact us today for an orthodontic consultation!

Digital Practice

Digital Practice Learn More

Our use of digital x-ray technology and 3D imaging technologies reduces your radiation exposure and eliminates the use of chemicals. We can see and treat problems long before they become visible on traditional x-rays. The increased precision means saving you time and money and avoiding complications with your treatments.
